Centre for Entrepreneurship and Skills Development (CESDEV) therefore, adapts an integrated approach on vocational, entrepreneurship skills training, Psychosocial support, Peacebuilding as well as microfinance to support vulnerable and unskilled women and youth across South Sudan’s rural and urban centers.

Centre for Entrepreneurship and Skills Development (CESDEV) is a Social Enterprise dedicated to addressing the basic unmet needs of lack of technical and entrepreneurship skills relevant to the South Sudan market. Our incorporation was inspired by the need to work with youth and women, across South Sudan with a view to creating a productive generation for a prosperous South Sudan. The Organization is registered primarily to provide vocational training, capacity building, ILO Start & Improve Your Business Training/SIYB, Empowering women and Youth in Agribusiness, Agricultural Value Chain Development for Decent work, psychosocial support, and peacebuilding in the areas of community development with special focus to youth (women & men) socioeconomic empowerment. Centre for Entrepreneurship and Skills Development was created out of a need for transformation in the working environments and our primary objective is to provide long-term sustainable employment through small businesses and development solutions for youth and women through skills development.

Centre for Entrepreneurship and Skills Development focuses on entrepreneurial skills training in the business environment through skills programmes, mentorships, and coaching based on the ILO methodology (see Products and Services). CESDEV will develop and provide solutions-driven qualifications in Business Entrepreneurship skills programs, Leadership and Business Development Programmes, including the crucial soft skills required to ensure successful business growth.

This will be driven by our constantly evolving business world, and the requirements for more opportunities in terms of Employment Equity and the need for improved skills innovation of our youths and small business owners, in accordance with the Broad-Based National Economic Empowerment’s Codes of good practice.

Our substantial market research has established that Business Development training is one of the country’s slowest growing service industries. CESDEV identified a significant complexity within the local market for SIYB and Get Ahead training. CESDEV identified a detachment between the training providers and their clients.

CESDEV differentiates itself from its competitors through competitive pricing and the development of unique workshops that will focus on real “on- the-job” experiences as training aids. A vast amount of the learners will come from the workforces of the existing client base of the partners. By specializing in the development of entrepreneurs CESDEV hopes to partner with communities to ensure the success of their businesses and therefore livelihoods.

CESDEV holds an associate database of seasoned SMEs development practitioners all whom are Human Development Initiators and have specialized skills that when brought together provides an exhaustive, fruitful synergy in the management of the business and provision of quality consulting services, training and mentorship.
